Location and facilities

Preparation for university

Our full programme of support in preparing university applications includes individual weekly tutorials, practice interviews, visits to universities and additional careers guidance such as our annual careers convention where students can meet practitioners from a variety of fields. The great majority of students graduating from CCSS go on to university in the UK or elsewhere, with many enjoying success at Cambridge, Oxford, LSE and other top universities in subjects ranging from international business to law and medicine.

The Course
This is a one year programme for students who have completed their secondary school education and wish to complete a Business related degree in three years. Successful completion of this programme in Chichester College guarantees students progression onto the second year of one of the following degrees at the University of Chichester:

Students will sit examinations and be continuously assessed on their homework assignments and projects and will also sit the IELTS examination.

Start Date and Duration
The programme begins on 16 September 2010 and finishes on 1 July 2011.

The course tuition fee is ￡6600.00 for the one year programme.

Course Progression
On successful completion of the course students are guaranteed a place on the second year of a Business related degree programme at the University of Chichester.

St Mary's Hall, Brighton, in the UK, has just opened a fantastic modern Sixth Form Day and Boarding Centre, which the girls just absolutely adore. The building; Elliott House provides state of the art facilities including flexible study areas with desktop PCs and wireless internet access, a comfortable and spacious Common Room and modern coffee bar facilities where students can relax and socialize. Elliott House also accommodates the senior boarders in mainly single study bedrooms located close to individual shower rooms. Elliott House prepares their students for the transition from school to higher education and the world of work by giving them the necessary facilities as well as independence as the building, although on the campus, but, away from the main building.

Strathallan School, Scotland, achieves 100% Pass Rate. Strathallan School has announced that all of its pupils sitting A Level exams had achieved pass marks. The 100% pass rate was made more remarkable when it was revealed that 73% of the candidates from the school had achieved A or B passes. Strathallan was the only school in Scotland of those entering the bulk of their candidates for A Level to achieve this success. Commenting on the results Head Master Bruce Thompson said, "As a school we are very pleased with these results. They reflect the effort of both staff and pupils and have resulted in pupils being given places at a wide range of first class Universities including Oxford and Cambridge".

Strathallan School remains committed to offering a range of Sixth Form Courses utilising both the A Level system and the Scottish Qualifications to provide a curriculum which is tailored to the individual needs of each pupil. The school is also unusual in requiring all pupils to take Computing in full certificate courses up until the age of sixteen. To support the importance of new technology, a new ICT building is now in use, with four classrooms fully equipped with state of the art technology. The Boarding Houses have also been fitted with wireless networks as laptops are viewed as an essential part of the learning experience.
